PlanetGuide
maintains its servers
in our state of the art
network operations
center.
From
our inception, we recognized
the need to protect
our client’s,
and our servers, from
the dangers of natural
disasters. We studied
the options and have
designed the areas most
comprehensive plan to
assist our clients in
times of need. Planetguide
has strategically located
our servers in a network
operations center (NOC).
This facility was battle
tested by Hurricane Katrina,
and was virtually unaffected.
Located 26 floors above
the city, with rooftop
generators and battery
backups, our servers
performed as designed,
before, during, and after
the storm. Many of our
colleagues suffered tremendous
damage after Katrina
hit. Planetguide was
up and running assisting
others until they were
able to return or make
a decision regarding
their viability in New
Orleans.
After the storm passed,
our staff temporarily
relocated to Baton Rouge.
We immediately began
the task of contacting
our displaced clients
to assist them with reaching
their business associates.
Most of our clientele
quickly responded adding
a “Hurricane Update” to
their home page, allowing
staff and customers to
continue doing business
from various locations,
as well as steer their
operations toward a reunion.
Planetguide is committed
to keeping our clients
online, even during times
of disaster and maintaining
our own servers is only
part of the plan. Our
new server programs such
as web editor, back up
and administrator panels
allow our consumers the
ability to have better
control of their online
needs.
We
recommend that all
our clients formulate
an emergency plan for
their business and employees
that can be posted on
their site. Planetguide
will also keep this information
on file in case another
disaster occurs so we
can assist our clients.
